Chandigarh, December 4

‘Saansad Bharat Darshan’, an initiative by MP Anurag Thakur from Himachal Pradesh, which took 40 meritorious girl students of Class X and XII from Hamirpur to various parts of India, concluded at the Press Club in Chandigarh on Tuesday.

Under the first phase of the programme, girls were selected for the tour. It was a 10-day excursion in which they visited Pune and Bengaluru — five days each.

The tour has given them exposure to the world outside of Himachal. They visited major attractions in Pune such as MIT University, took a tour of Shanivar Wada Palace, saw the National Defence Academy, visited Aga Khan Palace, MIT peace dome, Raj Kapoor Memorial and the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing(CDAC).

In Bengaluru, they were taken to attend the Bangalore Tech Summit. They visited ISKON temple, Visvesvaraya Museum, Lal Bagh, Cubbon Park, ISRO Satellite Centre and IISC. The girls also visited the cricket stadium in Bengaluru.  The tour programme combined both learning and touring activities, which is the theme of ‘Saansad Bharat Darshan’. The girls also met various dignitaries, including the President of India.
