Tobacco farmers seek support under GST

NEW DELHI: The Federation of All India Farmer Associations has asked Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to protect the interests of Indian tobacco farmers while formulating the GST laws.

The Federation of All India Farmer Associations has asked Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to protect the interests of Indian tobacco farmers while formulating the GST laws.

While most industry segments are cheering and eagerly waiting for an early rollout of GST, the farmers’ body said tobacco farmers are concerned that it should not spell doom on their livelihoods. — TNS
