Tata, Hero among Time India’s winners

MUMBAI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave away the first Time India Awards at the inauguration of Make in India (MII) Week in Mumbai on Saturday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave away the first Time India Awards at the inauguration of Make in India (MII) Week in Mumbai on Saturday.

Tata Steel received ‘Best-in-class Manufacturing’ title, Hero MotoCorp was named ‘Innovator of the Year’ and Yogesh & Rajesh Agarwal of Ajanta Pharma were ‘Young Makers of the Year’.

The prime minister also released a report by KPMG that detailed NDA government’s initiatives.

Modi launched the Make in India Week — an event held to promote India as a global manufacturing hub — earlier in the day.

Some 2,500 international and 8,000 domestic companies will participate in the weeklong multi-sectoral industrial event that will also have government delegations from 68 countries and business teams from 72 nations attending it. — PTI
