Gold bonds issue extended to November 30

The government today said the issue date of the Sovereign Gold Bonds, 2015-16, has been shifted from November 26 to November 30.

The Finance Ministry said a large number of applications have been received by the banks and post offices for Sovereign Gold Bonds, 2015-16. To enable smooth uploading of applications into RBI’s E-kuber system, particularly by the post offices, it has been decided to shift the issue date of the bonds from November 26 to November 30.

The statement said all other terms and conditions of the scheme remain unchanged. Earlier, the government in consultation with the RBI, had notified the issuance of Sovereign Gold Bonds. The first tranche of the bonds was open for subscription from November 5 to November 20. The bonds were to be issued on November 26.
