EVRY India to hire 600 at Mohali unit

Bengaluru-based IT player EVRY India is planning to invest Rs 100-125 crore in next 2-3 years to build infrastructure and strengthen research and development (R&D) etc.

The software player, a 100 per cent wholly owned subsidiary of Norwegian IT player-EVRY ASA, is also targeting to double its headcount in Mohali and Bengaluru in three years. At present, it is employing 600 people in Mohali and 1500 in Bengaluru.

“We are bullish about operations in India and intending to double the manpower, invest in infrastructure and R&D. We are planning to invest Rs 100-125 crore,” said Fredrik Almén, chairman of EVRY India board and Executive Vice-President of EVRY Sweden. Post expansion, the company would be hiring more than 1,200 persons in Mohali and 3,000 in Bengaluru.

Headquartered in Oslo (Norway), EVRY ASA is a leading Norwegian Information Technology organisation that supplies services relating to computing, including operation, outsourcing and online banking.

As far India operations is concerned, EVRY ASA acquired SPAN Infotech (I) Pvt Ltd, a Bengaluru-based software services company, having global delivery centres in Bengaluru and Chandigarh, besides business centre offices in the US and Europe. SPAN Infotech offers IT services (onsite and offshore) to customers in various industries such as banking and financial services, insurance and healthcare, retail, and travel transportation and Logistics.

Recently, the SPAN Infotech’s name has been changed to EVRY India. On being asked about the intention behind the change, he said, “It’s part of corporate strategy and also to bring the synergy of both companies together. The move also help build branding and representing them in a market as a one, as part of US $ 1.6 billion group.”
