NEW DELHI: Leading stock exchanges BSE and NSE have received markets regulator SEBI's approval to launch commodity derivatives segment from October 1. BSE will enter the segment with non-agriculture commodities such as metals initially followed by agri commodities subsequently. The BSE said it has received "another feather in its hat by getting SEBI's approval to launch commodity derivatives segment from October 1, 2018.” PTI

Income Tax Dept inspects books of Jet Airways

NEW DELHI: The I-T Department on Wednesday began inspection of the books of crisis-hit Jet Airways for alleged falsification of accounts and suspicious transactions, sources said. The airline, which is grappling with financial woes, is already under the lens of SEBI and the Corporate Affairs Ministry for  alleged lapses. Sources said the department began inspection of the Mumbai-headquartered airline's books and is conducting the operations at four premises of the airline. PTI

Jet to stop free meals in economy class from Sept 25

Mumbai: Facing strong financial headwinds, Jet Airways on Wednesday said it would be stopping free meals on its economy class from bookings done from September 25. The unbundled plan covers the ‘Economy Light’ and ‘Economy Deal’ categories in the domestic sector, the airline said, adding flyers will continue to get free beverages. It said following this, its tickets in these two buckets will become cheaper as the cost of meals in inclusive of the ticket fare now.” PTI
