Two persons snatched a purse containing Rs61,500 and three mobile phones from a woman on the Mall road here on Sunday.

The complainant, Krishna Garg, a resident of Sangrur, told the police that the incident took place around 5 am when she was going to her daughter’s house from the railway station on a rickshaw. She said two persons came on a motorcycle from the rear and snatched her purse.

A case under Section 379-B of the IPC has been registered against the unidentified persons at the Kotwali police station. — TNS
