Malout, June 14

A 35-year-old married woman of Dabwali Malko Ki village here, who had allegedly eloped with her paramour of the same village a few days ago, was found dead in an irrigation channel on Thursday.

Deceased Gurwinder Kaur’s husband Gurjant Singh informed the police that his wife had an illicit affair with Gursewak Singh Gora.

“She ran away with Gursewak on June 10. When we started a manhunt to trace her, we found her body in an irrigation channel near the Abul Khurana village link road. The body was in a poor condition. It seems Gursewak killed her,” alleged Gurjant in his complaint to the police.

The Lambi police have registered a case of murder against Gursewak Singh and started investigation. The accused is yet to be arrested.
