Joys of a marriage party turned into gloom when a woman dancing a day before the marriage of her nephew received a bullet injury at her forehead and died. The incident occurred near Kararwala village, near Rampura, where Jagtar Kaur, a resident of Beehla village of Barnala, received the bullet injury.
The victim, who was the aunt of the groom, was dancing among others when a bullet hit her. Her relatives thought that she fell unconscious. However, in the hospital they were informed that she received a fatal bullet injury.
Investigating Officer Jangir Singh said a case of murder had been registered against, Babu Singh, who is groom’s neighbour. Babu was firing gunshots during the celebrations while women were dancing near him. The case was registered on the complaint of the husband of the deceased. The accused is at large and would be arrested soon. — TNS
