Two persons were killed in two different incidents that took place in the district in the last 24 hours.

In one incident, a man died after being hit by an unidentified car near Jai Singhwala village bus stand on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Naib Singh, a resident of Jai Singhwala village. His son, Baljinder Singh, said his father along with his brother, Sukhmander Singh, were coming to Jai Singhwala village from Ghudda village on a scooter when a rashly driven car bearing number HR 12 U 4218 hit them near the bus stand of Jai Singhwala village.

Naib Singh died on the spot and his brother has sustained several injuries.

The police have registered a case against the unknown driver under Sections 279, 337,338, 304 A and 427 of the IPC at the Sangat police station.

While in another incident, a youth was killed after he was hit by an unknown vehicle near Poohla village on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Jagsir Singh, a resident of Bucho Kalan village.

Kartar Singh, father of the deceased, said his son was riding his motorcycle, when he was hit by some unknown vehicle. After which his son died on the spot.

The police have registered a case against the unidentified driver of the vehicle on the statement of the father under Sections 304 A, 279, 337, 338, 427 of the IPC.
