Two killed in road accident

BATHINDA: Two persons were killed in a collision between a Mahindra Pick-up van and Maruti Celerio car on the Bathinda-Talwandi Sabo road near Bhagiwander village last night.

Two persons were killed in a collision between a Mahindra Pick-up van and Maruti Celerio car on the Bathinda-Talwandi Sabo road near Bhagiwander village last night.

The deceased have been identified as Parminder Singh, travelling in the Celerio car and Kuldeep Singh, driver of the second vehicle.

As per information, Parminder Singh has retired from the Army.

He was coming back to Talwandi Sabo after taking masons Balbir Singh and Mahinder Singh in his car.

Near Bhagiwander village, the Mahindra Pick-up van carrying milk from Talwandi Sabo collided with the car.

Both cars were badly damaged and Parminder Singh died on the spot.

After getting information, NGO Sahara Club volunteers reached the spot and took Kuldeep Singh to the Civil Hospital, where he died after sometime.

Balvir Singh and Mahinder Singh, who were injured in the accident, were admitted to Civil Hospital, Bathinda.

Talwandi Sabo SHO Jagdish Kumar also reached the spot along with his team and started a probe into the incident.

Investigating officer head constable Baldev Singh said on the basis of the statement of those injured, the police had taken action under Section 174.

Bodies of the deceased have been handed over to the family members after conducting post-mortem, he added.
