Two Bathinda teachers get Gyan Peeth award

BATHINDA: It’s a gratifying achievement for the city that two teachers from here — Balwinder Bagha and Priti Batish — received Malti Gyan Peeth Puraskar from the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, at a function held in New Delhi recently.

It’s a gratifying achievement for the city that two teachers from here — Balwinder Bagha and Priti Batish — received Malti Gyan Peeth Puraskar from the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, at a function held in New Delhi recently.

They are among the 15 teachers selected from the state for the award.

The award comprises of an appreciation letter, cash reward of Rs 1 lakh and a robe of honour.

Divisional Education Officer Khushvir Singh, District Education Officer (Secondary) Maninder Kaur, District Education Officer (Elementary) Baljeet Singh Sandoha, deputy education officers Karamjit Singh and Pawan Kumar congratulated the teachers on their achievement.
