Bathinda, November 16

The Ayush ministry in collaboration with the state government is set to organise a state-level ‘Arogya Mela’ in the city on Saturday. Hundreds of practitioners and experts in homoeopathy, Ayurveda and naturopathy among other ancient healing techniques will spread awareness on prevention and treatment of different diseases.

State Health Minister Brahm Mohindra will preside over as the chief guest at the event. The three-day event will conclude on November 19. The preparations were on in full swing at Rajindra College on Friday. There would be around 60 stalls from across the region varying from ayurvedic, yoga and naturopathy, unani, siddha and homeopathy.

Five OPDs of Ayurveda and two OPDs of homoeopathy will be set up to provide free of cost examination/treatment and medication at the fair.

Talking to The Tribune, Sanjeev Pathak, nodal officer for the Arogya Mela, said, “Ancient healing techniques of Ayurveda and homoeopathy have already been prevalent among people and unlike allopathic medicines there are no side-effects of these treatment techniques. The mela is an attempt by the government to further increase the popularity of these techniques by spreading awareness among people. The event would also be attended by delegates who would share some other rare ancient techniques of healing during the event.”
