A day after a news report carried in Bathinda Tribune regarding alleged misbehaviour of a teacher at Government High School, Khialiwala, the District Education Department transferred him to Government Middle School, Raman village in Talwandi Sabo on Friday.

In the news report carried on Thursday, it was highlighted that girl students of the school had submitted a written complaint to the principal in August this year, alleging misbehaviour and use of foul language by the teacher.

Then parents of the students, members of the Khet Mazdoor Union and school staff met the District Education Officer, submitted a complaint against the teacher and demanded action.

Talking to Bathinda Tribune, Baljit Kumar, District Education Officer, said, “We have sent the teacher on deputation to Government Middle School, Raman village in Talwandi Sabo, till the enquiry proceedings are on. We are busy collating a preliminary investigation report in the matter, which will be forwarded to the State Education Department on Monday. Final decision in the matter would be taken after we receive further instructions.”

Meanwhile, the parents, members of the union and panchayat had planned to ‘gherao’ the teacher but he did not turn up at the school.

The DEO added, “Keeping in view the aggressive stance of the people and studies of the students, we had to depute him to some other location for the time being. The probe might take some time before final decision could be taken in the matter.”
