Guru Kashi University (GKU) organised a lecture recently, in which Army officers encouraged the students to join the force.

Officers of Medical Corps — Major Harleen Kaur and Capt Nandini Arora — of Bathinda Cantonment attended the lecture. The speakers guided the students as to how to crack the Army recruitment exams.

They screened videos of solders and said the students might make their career in the armed forces.

Solders help the nation in the time of a war and peace, said Nandini Arora. She added that the interested students should follow stringent specifications of physical fitness, height, and education to create better prospects for themselves.

“Three stars on shoulders are brighter then millions of stars illuminating the sky,” she said, instilling confidence in the students. Queries of the students and faculty were answered by Major Harleen Kaur.

Addressing the gathering, BS Dhaliwal, Vice-Chancellor, GKU, who is also an ex-serviceman, said the students must serve the nation by joining the Army. He honoured the speakers with dockets of the GKU publication and moments.

In his vote of thanks, Jagtar Singh Dhiman, Registrar, GKU, said the university would continue to organise motivational programs for its students in future also.

The proceedings of the lecture were conducted by the public relations officer of the university Sukhdevinder Singh Kaurra.

All necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of the lecture were made by Deputy Registrar Amit Tuteja and estate officer Het Ram Babbar.

Besides the students and staff members, deans and directors of all constituent colleges of the university were also present during the programme.

Gurlabh Singh Sidhu, chairman, GKU, congratulated the staff and students for organising a motivational seminar and conveyed thanks to the officers of the Indian Army.
