MANSA: Members of the stray cattle action committee on Saturday staged a protest with the body of Shanty Singh of Jawarhke village of Mansa, who was killed in a mishap that took place due to stray cattle.

Members of the stray cattle action committee on Saturday staged a protest with the body of Shanty Singh of Jawarhke village of Mansa, who was killed in a mishap that took place due to stray cattle. The victim had gone to bring milk for his kids when the mishap occurred.

They also raised slogans against the district administration. The panel members demanded Rs10-lakh compensation for the family and a government job for a family member. They also demanded that the Chief Minister should come to Mansa and give them assurance to curb the stray cattle menace. They said after that they would cremate the body.

According to information, after the accident, the victim was taken to the Civil Hospital in a critical condition. Doctor referred him to Patiala where he breathed his last on Saturday morning.
