Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Bathinda rural Prof Rupinder Kaur Ruby today expressed concern over suicides by farmers in Punjab and even after the formation of Capt Amarinder Singh-led Congress government it is not stopping.

She alleged that this would be considered as the Congress government’s biggest failure. “It is sad that everyday farmers are committing suicides in the state, but the CM does not have the time to listen to grievances of people,” she said.

Professor Ruby said that the current government had failed on all fronts and Capt Amarinder Singh had not fulfilled his promises made in the run-up to the Assembly election. “Even today, drugs are being sold in Punjab, and now even Congress MLAs themselves says that drugs in Punjab has become rather expensive,” she alleged.

Even today sand mafia, cable mafia, gravel mafia and drug mafia rule the state. She questioned that Congress leaders should tell how many mafia have been jailed so far. People had voted the Congress to power with great expectations, but they did not stand up to the expectations of the people.

She said that the people of the state will take revenge of these unfulfilled promises in 2019 by defeating the Congress.
