Union Minister of State for Sports Sarbananda Sonowal today said his government would promote the rural sports across the country.
He said presently there main focus is to train the sportspersons for the Olympics. So that India can bag more medals at the highest sporting event. He said it is a shame that with such a high population we fail to produce more Olympians.
Commenting on the Kabaddi controversy of Pakistan team management alleging partial decision he said this issue has been sorted out by the kabaddi association.
When asked about the ongoing tussle between the alliance partners BJP-SAD, he replied that he was not authorised to speak on this issue.
