Rs 1.33 cr per acre for acquiring land at Lehra Bega

For acquiring land to set up a toll plaza at Lehra Bega village on the Bathinda-Chandigarh road, owners of agricultural land in the area are being given compensation of Rs 1.33 crore per acre approximately.

In a press statement issued here, Bathinda SDM Sakshi Sawhney said following the government norms and rates fixed by the rate fixation committee, the owners of land at Lehra Bega were being given Rs 1.33 crore per acre.

This excludes any compensation, which shall be additionally awarded for structure that is attached to the land.

She said the rates were decided as per the Land Acquisition Act, 2013, and the NHAI Act during a meeting of the rate fixation committee held on March 22.

The SDM said those who were dissatisfied with the classification of land and were running commercial enterprises had been given time to submit their documents till Tuesday at the SDM office.
