The Revenue Patwaris’ Union on Tuesday staged a protest for four hours from 11 am to 3 pm at the old tehsil complex to get their demands fulfilled. The protest was headed by union president Gurtej Singh Pakka.

Addressing the protesters, leaders alleged that the police were directly interfering in the working of the Revenue Department whereas as per government norms a district collector or official’s probe and without personal advice, a case could not be registered.

They alleged revenue offices did not have proper drinking water and toilet facilities, causing problems to officials. There were not adequate seating arrangements.

The leaders said the patwaris who had been transferred from other districts, their service books had been received, but their personal files had not been sent yet. “The patwaris who are promoted to senior scale, there is no provision of their outstanding amount. Even the government has not released the DA instalment,” they said.
