Bathinda, June 22

Residents of Ward No 23 today met Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sanyam Aggarwal and submitted a memorandum of their demands.

Accompanied by residents of Vishal Nagar and Panchvati Nagar, councillor Kamlesh Rani raised the issue that although the tenders of various developmental works had been allotted, the MCB was yet to give work orders.

They said it led to delay in initiation of these works.

They added that the roads from Vishal Nagar, Phase 1, to Panchavti Nagar were to be covered with interlocking tiles and roads in Vishal Nagar, Phase 2 and 3, were to be relayed with premix but the work orders for both these projects were being delayed.

The MCB commissioner assured the residents that he would check what was causing the delay in issuance of work orders.
