Bathinda, May 21

The residents of Bathinda its adjoining areas woke up to pleasant weather this morning after the region received light rainfall, apart from experiencing dust storm last night.

As per the Weather Department, the region may continue to experience pleasant weather as there is a possibility of partly cloudy sky.

There are also chances of rain, thunderstorm or dust storm over the next 24 hours.

While several other parts of the state received light to moderate rainfall over the weekend, hopes of residents of the district were dashed as the cloud cover didn’t transform into rain, except for drizzle in scattered parts.

The temperature registered a drop of more than six degree Celsius over the past two days.

As per the data collected from the Agri-met Department of the PAU’s regional centre in Bathinda, the maximum temperature recorded on Friday was 41.8 degree Celsius.

It fell to 38 degree Celsius yesterday and 35.5 degree Celsius today.

However, the minimum temperature didn’t register much change over the three days and was recorded around 25 degree Celsius over the weekend.

As per the forecast released by the Indian Meteorological Department, Government of India, the region would experience partly cloudy sky over the next six days with little possibility of rain.

However, the forecast also predicts that the region may experience dust storm or thunderstorm, which will not allow the temperature to rise substantially.

As per the IMD forecast, the maximum temperature will be recorded around 39 degree Celsius over the next six days while the minimum may increase to around 26 degree Celsius.
