The PWD workshop union and branch sewerage board on Tuesday staged a protest outside the office of Triveni company, which is managing the operation and maintenance work of sewerage and water supply in the city.

The protest rally was headed by branch president Raj Kumar Grover and district leader Makhan Singh. Addressing the protesters, both alleged that Triveni company had not been paying salary to its working workers. They said the Dasehra and Diwali festivals were two or three weeks apart and keeping it in view the firm should immediately release the pending salaries of these workers otherwise they would intensify their protest in the coming days.

The union leaders announced that they would support the teachers and demanded that their leaders who had been suspended or transferred was condemnable and that they demanded that this should be cancelled at the earliest.

Lashing out at the state government, union leaders termed the state government as anti-employees. nion leaders Kulwinder Singh Sidhu, Kishore Chand, Gurdeep Singh, Sukhchain Singh and others addressed the protest.
