Punjabi movie star cast visits city

BATHINDA: Star cast of an upcoming Punjabi movie “Kurmaiyan”, starring Punjabi singer Harjeet Harman and Japji Khaira, was in city on Wednesday to promote their movie.

Star cast of an upcoming Punjabi movie “Kurmaiyan”, starring Punjabi singer Harjeet Harman and Japji Khaira, was in city on Wednesday to promote their movie. The movie will hit the cinema houses on September 14.

Addressing mediapersons, Harjeet Harman said this was his first movie and the film portrayed old Punjab. “It is full of entertainment and everyone must just go and watch it and have lots of laugh.”

He said, “The movie rotated around the marriage of two persons who are in love with each other. Whenever the talk of their marriage is initiated, something bad takes place, leading to the failure of the plan of their getting married. Their plan of marriage gets failed twice, but in the end, they finally get married.” He claimed that the movie showcased village life.

Japji Khaira, who is playing the lead actress in the film, said, “The Punjabi film industry is doing well, but still it is a baby as compared to the growth of south cinema.”

She said the shooting of the movie had been done at two villages near Moga. “It was great fun working with Harjeet Harman, who is not only a good person, but also a good actor,” she signs off.
