BATHINDA: Players from all across the state presented their best performances in boxing at the semi-final stage during the inter-district school games here at the Multipurpose Stadium on Saturday.

Players from all across the state presented their best performances in boxing at the semi-final stage during the inter-district school games here at the Multipurpose Stadium on Saturday. Matches were also played at Royaldeep Boxing Club near Goniana Road.

District Education Officer Baljit Kumar presided over the event as the chief guest. The boxing matches in the boys category was inaugurated by Jaswinder Singh, president of Royaldeep Boxing Club.

Abhishek from Mohali was defeated by Nidish Bakshi from Ludhiana in the 46-49 kg weight category. Deepinder Kumar, Jalandhar, was defeated by Mandeep Singh from Hoshiarpur in the 52-56 kg weight category.

In another nail-biting match, Amritpal Singh from Tarn Taran defeated Amritpal Singh from Hoshiarpur in the 56-60 kg weight category.

In another match, Gautam from Jalandhar was defeated by Satinder Sharma from Barnala in the 60-64 kg weight category. Sunny Kumar from Sangrur was defeated by Karan from Jalandhar wing in the 46 kg weight category. Ramandeep Singh from Amritsar was defeated by Harwinder Singh from Patiala in the 46-49 kg weight category. The event would conclude on November 19.
