Prices of veggies fall with increase in supply

BATHINDA: The price of onions has dropped to Rs 10 per kg in the vegetable market while street vendors are selling it at Rs 15 per kg.

The price of onions has dropped to Rs 10 per kg in the vegetable market while street vendors are selling it at Rs 15 per kg.

Last week, it was sold at Rs 15 per kg in the vegetable market and Rs 20 by street vendors.

The price of cucumbers has also dropped as they are sold at Rs 7 per kg in the vegetable market while street vendors are selling it at Rs 10-12.

While last week, it was sold at Rs 10 in the vegetable market and Rs 15 by street vendors.

The drop in its price is said to be due to increase in local production.

The price of lemons has declined from Rs 60 per kg to Rs 40 per kg in the vegetable market.

The price of lady’s finger has dropped to Rs 10 from Rs 20 per kg.

Bottlegourd (kadu) price has come down from Rs 15 to Rs 10 a kg. Vegetable venders sell it for anything between Rs 15 and Rs 17.

Prices of certain vegetables remained unchanged. The prices of potato (per kg) are Rs 8, tomato Rs 15, capsicium Rs 15, radish Rs 10 and cauliflower Rs 20 in the vegetable market.
