Police accused of inaction

Bathinda: Husanpreet Kaur, a resident of Gill Patti village, on Saturday accused the police of inaction in her husband Jasveer Singh’s suicide case. She alleged that the Thermal police are not arresting the accused in the case. Husanpreet alleged that the police had released one of the accused and were playing into their hands. She said a case had been registered against Tej Singh, Harpal Singh, Mandeep Singh, Sarabjeet Singh and Paramjeet Singh, all residents of Gill Patti village, on her statement. In her complaint to the police, she stated that the accused used to torture her husband. She further added that her husband committed suicide by jumping into the Thermal lake after getting mentally upset. SP Balraj Singh Sidhu said the police were doing their job and all the accused would be in custody. He said they had not released any accused. TNS
