Photographers take out march

BATHINDA: Members of the Bathinda Photographers’ Association on Saturday staged a protest march near Fire Brigade Chowk to express resentment over the killing of a photographer during celebratory firing at Dasuya in Hoshiapur recently.

Members of the Bathinda Photographers’ Association on Saturday staged a protest march near Fire Brigade Chowk to express resentment over the killing of a photographer during celebratory firing at Dasuya in Hoshiapur recently.

The association members gathered near Teachers’ Home and took out a protest march till Fire Brigade Chowk holding placards with messages like “stop celebratory firing”.

Narendar Kumar, president of the union, and executive members Vijay Kumar, Manjit Singh Sagar, Jagdeep Singh and Ravinder Kumar, among other members, participated in the march.

Narendar exhorted the photographers to stay away from events/functions where people indulged in celebratory firing or take guarantee from the organisers that no celebratory firing must take place during the event.

He urged the government that the authorities concerned must act tough in such matters and strict action be taken against those indulging in celebratory firing.
