BATHINDA: In a first, the Postgraduate Studies Department, Punjabi University’s Regional Centre here, got its first woman head.

In a first, the Postgraduate Studies Department, Punjabi University’s Regional Centre here, got its first woman head. Dr Balwinder Kaur Sidhu has been appointed as the head of the department.

She will head the department for next three years as per rotation policy of the university. The PG Studies Department includes degrees such as MA Economics, MA English, MA Punjabi, M Phil and School of Business (MBA Department), which was started last year.

Dr Sidhu has been associated with the Punjabi Department of Punjabi University Regional Centre, Bathinda, for the past many years.

She is a gold medalist in MA Religion and MA Sikh Studies. She has done researches in the field of religion, Sufism, Sikh history and other Punjabi language fields.
