Four unidentified armed men took away a Swift Desire (PB11CN5160) car from a Patiala resident on the Malout road here on Thursday night.

The suspects took away the car from outside a dhaba situated on the outskirts of the city.

Atinderpal Singh, a resident of Patiala, told the police that on Thursday night, he, along with his friend Harjot Singh, was going towards the Malout side in his car. Atinderpal said when they reached near Nirankari Bhavan, they stopped in front of a dhaba to have food.

He said thereafter, four armed men came and took away the car.

A case under Sections 392 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Sections 25, 27 and 54 of the Arms Act has been registered against the unidentified persons at the Thermal police station.

The police said various teams were working on the case. However, two days have passed, but the police failed to get any clue about the suspects.
