Bathinda, February 15

Some outsiders beat up a student of Government Rajindra College this afternoon. The student suffered a fracture in his arm and was admitted to the Civil Hospital.

A resident of Gurishankar village in Muktsar district, Sukhbir Singh is a student of BA final year at the college.

He stated that he was surrounded and attacked by some outsiders on the college premises after he came out of class.

He added that he didn’t know why he was attacked and didn’t even know the identity of the attackers.

On being intimated, officials from the bus stand police post began inquest proceedings into the case.

Sandeep, deputed at the bus stand police post, said, “We had gone to the hospital but the doctor declared the victim unfit for recording a statement. We will record the statement next morning and would then search for the attackers.”

College principal Mukesh Aggarwal expressed ignorance over the incident and maintained that no such thing was reported on the college.

“I am not aware of any such incident. Had such an incident taken place on the premises, I must have knowledge about it,” he said.
