One held for threatening gurdwara granthi

The Rureke Kalan police station under Barnala district have arrested a resident of Aspal Khurd village last night for allegedly threatening a granthi (priest) of his village gurudwara.

As per information, granthi Ranjit Singh and Gurmale Singh from Aspal Kurd village were on night vigil in the gurdwara last night. Around 12.30 am, accused Jagtar Singh scaled the wall and entered the gurdwara.

Both Gurmale and Ranjit alleged in their statement that accused Jagtar was carrying a sharp-edged weapon in his hand when he entered the gurdwara. After entering the gurudwara, he started looking for the granthi in his room and when Ranjit got to know and went to meet Jagtar, he abused the granthi and threatened to kill him and fled. “We have arrested Jagtar and are investigating,” said head constable Karmjit Singh.
