Bathinda, December 17

Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait on Monday inaugurated an online system for the approval of residential and commercial building plans at the office of the Municipal Council in Mansa.

Earlier, drawings and maps of houses were used to be approved manually.

Addressing a gathering on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said people would get the work related to building plans done in a time-bound and transparent manner with the help of the new system.

She said besides, it would be hassle-free because the drawings would be automatically passed within a stipulated time frame.

Divulging further, Municipal Council Engineer Avtar Singh Nutt, who carried out this work in record time, said people would not have to visit the Municipal Council office to get drawings and maps approved.

“Under the new system, the applicant will apply for the building plans with the architect along with the related documents. The architect will prepare the drawing as per the building bylaws and upload the same on the specialised scrutiny engine software,” he said.

He added that the drawing would reach the Municipal Council account and the officials concerned would approve it online after examining.

Nutt said the fee of drawing would be submitted online and the applicant could also take the print out of the approved drawing.

Municipal Council president Mandeep Singh Gora, Executive Officer Vijay Kumar Jindal, Junior Engineer Major Singh, Municipal Council officials Sunil Kumar and Munish Jindal were also present on the occasion.
