Bathinda, January 18

Railway Protection Force (RPF) women staff have been demanding a changing room at the RPF police post located on the premises of the railway station here. Besides, the lavatory at the post is also in a deplorable condition.

RPF personnel have alleged that no steps have been taken to make arrangements for a changing room despite writing several applications to the higher authorities.

Pleading anonymity, an RPF official, said the authorities should understand the fact that women staff were also working in the police force and they were facing problems due to the non-availability of changing room.

Each government institute has a separate changing room for women, but they don’t have, he added.

Ramesh Chand, RPF post in-charge, confirmed that they didn’t have the changing room for women staff while stating that they had taken up the matter with the higher authorities.

On the other hand, the Railways recently constructed a changing room for facilitation of female passengers at platform number 7.

Hardev Singh, senior section engineer, Northern Railways, said, “We have forwarded the demand of the RPF for constructing a changing room for women staff at the post.”
