Bathinda, December 5

Two persons have been arrested in connection with a murder of a youth at Bhundar village, a couple of days ago. His body was found lying on Bhunder-Dhadde road on December 3.

The deceased was identified as Ranjeet Singh. A murder case was registered on the basis of a statement of his father Gurjant Singh. Addressing a press conference here today, SP (D) Gurbinder Singh Sangha said the police had constituted various teams to track down the killers. He said initial investigation hinted towards involvement of Ramandeep Singh, Yudhvir Singh and Jatinder in the crime. The police arrested Ramandeep and Yudhvir for their alleged role in Ranjeet’s murder case. The third accused, Jatinder, is still at large.

The SP said they also seized a bike and weapon allegedly used by them in the crime. He said the duo was yet to reveal the motive behind the murder. The police would seek their remand for further investigation, the SP said.

While Ramandeep is a kabaddi player, Yudhvir is engaged in farming.
