Muktsar, November 5

CPI leader Kanhaiya Kumar today came down heavily on the BJP-led Central government and said the saffron party leaders were using official machinery for personal interests. He was in Malout town to attend the first death anniversary of a communist leader.

While interacting with mediapersons on the sidelines of the event, he said, “The BJP is trying to sideline all issues in the name of country’s security. However, it is doing almost nothing on the ground. We have always defeated Pakistan in the past, yet our government is competing with a loser country. We should rather compete with Canada, USA and UK. The BJP had made so many promises during the elections, but it did not fulfil any of these when it came to power.”

About his own political activity, Kanhaiya said as an alert resident of the country, he was using his rights and doing duties as well. On a query about the BJP’s increasing and CPI’s decreasing graph in the recent past, he said, “People have well observed who is saying what and doing what. They voted for the BJP because of the mistakes of those sitting in the Opposition now. The BJP is using even the Enforcement Directorate as a tool.”
