Faridkot, July 18

A month after the death of a 27-year-old person was attributed to natural cause, the scrutiny of his mobile phone revealed the actual reason behind his demise—wife’s affair with another person.

The police have booked the woman and her paramour for abetting the suicide of the person on Thursday.

According to police sources, Kashmir Singh of Jeonwala village of Kotkapura area had died under mysterious circumstances on June 17. As the wife of the deceased raised no suspicion, it was assumed to be a natural death and the deceased was cremated.

However, around one month after the suspicious death, family members of the deceased stumbled upon a video clip in his mobile phone. In this video clip, the wife of the deceased was seen in a compromising position with a person of Manuke village of Moga. The wife’s parental home is in Manuke village.

“Her illicit relationship had tipped my son’s psychological balance and pushed him to the verge of taking the extreme step, about six year after their marriage,” alleged Manjit Kaur, mother of the deceased.

The Kotkapura police have booked Veerpal Kaur, the wife of the deceased and her paramour Rama Singh under Section 307 of IPC (abetment to suicide).
