Officials collect five samples of milk, desi ghee

BATHINDA: A team of officials of the Health Department and police personnel conducted a raid on two ghee factories at Sivian village on the Gillpati road here on Wednesday evening.

A team of officials of the Health Department and police personnel conducted a raid on two ghee factories at Sivian village on the Gillpati road here on Wednesday evening.

District Health Officer Dr Ashok Monga and Thermal police station SHO KC Parashar headed the team and collected three samples of milk and two samples of desi ghee. Dr Ashok Monga said the samples had been sent to a Chandigarh lab for testing. After the report, further action would be initiated, he added.

According to information, the Thermal police had received a tip-off that two factories located on the Gillpati road at Sivian village had been preparing spurious ghee and milk products. Acting on it, the police, along health officials, conduct a raid on the factories. — TNS
