Besides, at the railway ground end they have completed the construction work of ramp which is 110 metres long and 2.60 metre wide. Similarly, the stairs have been constructed on the other side. Apart from this, they have completed the work of linking the stairs from one side of the platform to the FOB.

Elaborating on the construction work, he said they were going to have ramps, escalators, lifts and stairs at both ends of the FOB. Besides, they are going to link escalators with the FOB at platform Nos. 1, 2, 5 and 6. Besides, on platform nos. 3 and 4 passengers will be facilitated with lift as well.

On the other hand, passengers and residents from the areas adjacent to the railway station heaved a sigh of relief.

Kuljeet Singh, a resident of Parasram Nagar, said, “For the last few months due to the ongoing construction of the FOB and seeing a heavy rush on the existing FOB we have almost stopped walking from the FOB to reach one end to the other. But, after the opening of the new FOB for public and passengers we can again walk over the FOB without any problem.”
