MBA admissions begin at regional centre

Dr GS Batra, Dean (Academics), Punjabi University, Patiala, on Monday visited the newly opened School of Business for MBA at the Punjabi University Regional Centre here.

The School of Business, opened at the regional centre, has started MBA programme this month. Dr Batra said it was the demand of Bathinda region to start an MBA programme at this centre. He said the Malwa region was fast developing and Bathinda, being its hub, required a high quality MBA institution. In order to contribute towards the development of the region, Dr BS Ghuman, vice-chancellor, Punjabi University, Patiala, initiated to start an MBA programme at its regional centre in Bathinda.

Dr Batra stressed that the university would provide high quality professional and practical knowledge to MBA students. The whole MBA curriculum at school of business would be based on present requirements of the industry so that students could easily compete with those from other leading business schools of the country. The university and School of Business would make sure that students got good campus placements on the completion of their MBA.

Dr BS Tangi, head, Department of PG Studies, said apart from building the infrastructure the university had already transferred the experienced MBA faculty. He thanked Dr Ghuman and Dr Batra for starting the MBA program at the regional centre.
