Bathinda, September 18

To get traffic resumed on the railway crossing on the Rampura-Talwandi road at Maur, a delegation of residents on Wednesday met the Deputy Commissioner. Members of the Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) Ekta Urgahan were also part of the delegation.

They also staged a protest outside the District Administrative Complex and raised slogans against the Railways and the district administration.

BKU Ekta Ugrahan district president Shingara Singh Mann said traffic on the railway crossing had been closed for the construction of a railway overbridge in Maur Mandi. He said for the past one year, the construction work on the project has been hanging fire. Mann added that due to it, students and residents are highly affected as they have to cover more distance as the railway crossing road is still lying closed.— TNS
