Instructors in the Police Lines said memory of the entire police force is refreshed every morning on weapon handling, it’s cleaning and tactics to fire.

“We have given training of Self Loading Rifle (SLR), 9 mm SAF Carbine, 9 mm pistol and the 7.62 AK 47 rifle,” the trainers said.

The trainers stated that this training would immensely help the police force as this would help in getting accurate information about weapon and it would also increase the self-confidence of the police force.

Those who underwent the training said that this course had given them a sense of confidence and made them more disciplined force.

“This time we have learnt how to fire shots with a rifle and pistol by taking different positions and also what is the right angle of firing which would destroy the enemy without harming our colleagues,” said a constable.

She said though she had undergone similar training previously, this time more pain was being taken by the instructors and even senior police officers were present most of the time. The constables said they were made aware of the different and more safe ways of transportation of weapons and ammunition.
