A man was reportedly killed over sharing of water from a water channel passing near the fields at Mehma Sawai village last night.

As per information, Baljit Singh’s had earlier given his land on lease to Sukhdeep Singh for the last five years.

This year near Baisakhi, he gave his land on contract to Satpal Singh.

Yesterday, when Satpal Singh reached his fields to water them, he entered into a spat with Sukhdeep Singh.

Sukhdeep later killed Satpal by opening fire from his .12 bore rifle.

The deceased’s father Darshan Singh said he received a call informing him about the fight.

When he along with his grandson Gurpinder Singh reached the spot, they found Satpal lying in the water channel in his fields.

Sources said Sukhdeep fired in the chest of Satpal Singh.
