BATHINDA: A passenger was crushed to death under a train at the Bathinda railway station.

A passenger was crushed to death under a train at the Bathinda railway station.

The deceased has been identified as Tarun Kumar, a resident of the SS road area, Bathinda.

The incident took place when he slipped while trying to board the moving Abohar-Fazilka train at platform number 5. His body was cut into two parts by the wheels.

After getting information, NGO Sahara Jan Sewa volunteers reached the spot.

During search, a railway pass was found from the deceased’s pocket.

GRP constable Gurpal Singh with a police party also reached the spot.

The body was sent to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem.

A police official said the deceased had alighted from the train to fill his water bottle and while doing so, the train started moving. — TNS
