Bathinda, August 19

Zila Parishad Chairman Gurpreet Singh Maluka on Sunday said the Akali Dal would sweep the local body elections in the state as well as the next year’s Lok Sabha poll.

Addressing a meeting of party leaders at Bhai Rupa village, Maluka said, “The recent developments in the AAP have exposed the real face of its leaders. They are now talking of autonomy for Punjabis and sale of party tickets in the 2017 Assembly polls. Why didn’t Sukhpal Khaira raise these issues earlier? Their conduct shows that the people of Punjab cannot expect anything from them.”

He said people would never trust the AAP and it would disintegrate before the Lok Sabha elections. Lashing out at the ruling Congress, he said the party had failed miserably on all the fronts and the people would punish it in the coming local bodies as well as Lok Sabha elections.

He said the Akali Dal would sweep both the elections in the state. He exhorted the party leaders to work hard for ensuring the party’s triumph in the Zila Parishad and Block Samiti elections in the state.
