Bathinda, March 18

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) senior leader Sikander Singh Maluka today resigned from the SAD district president’s post, which he has been holding for the past 28 years.

The reason behind the move has been stated that some time ago, SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal had appointed Maluka as SAD kisan wing co-president and two days ago he was appointed as SAD Rajasthan in-charge.

Sikander Singh Maluka said he had sent his resignation to party president Sukhbir Singh Badal. He said the condition of farmers was pitiable and he would try to bring them out of the crisis.

He thanked the party high command for having faith in him and making him district president for 28 years. He said soon the party high command would give the responsibility to an able party worker. — TNS
