LJP protests against demolition

BATHINDA: Members of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), headed by state president Kiranjit Singh Gehri, on Monday burnt an effigy of the district administration over the demolition of the chambers outside the District Court Complex in the city.

Members of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), headed by state president Kiranjit Singh Gehri, on Monday burnt an effigy of the district administration over the demolition of the chambers outside the District Court Complex in the city.

Kiranjit Singh Gehri, along with affected persons, burnt an effigy of the district administration and raised slogans against the administration over demolishing their chambers and vends without giving prior notices to them.

Gehri said for the last 15 years, these youths, belonging to poor families, had been doing work here and rearing their families. He said they met the ADC and asked him to resolve this issue.

He warned the district administration that if it did not resolve the issue till March 23, they would intensify their protest.
