Literary-cultural fest kicks off at MRSPTU

A two-day annual cultural-literary-technical festival, ‘TARANNUM-2018’, commenced at Giani Zail Singh Campus College of Engineering and Technology (GZSCCET), Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda campus, with fanfare.

The festival will consist of various technical events, creative competitions and talent-oriented cultural performances. The event coincides with the International Day of the Girl Child. MRSPTU Vice-Chancellor Dr Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, who was the chief guest, inaugurated the festival by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

He highlighted the contribution of such techno-cultural events towards the shaping of young minds. He congratulated the organisers for providing an excellent opportunity to students to showcase their talent and creativity in various fields. Prof Gursharan Singh, campus director, GZSCCET, Bathinda, motivated the students and encouraged them to take active part in various events.

Prof RK Bansal, Dean (Students Welfare), MRSPTU, complimented that the function sent vibration throughout the world among its alumni, who have sent their good wishes for the grand success of the event.

An alumnus, IPS Officer Vikramjeet Duggal, AIG, Counter Intelligence, Punjab, will join the closing ceremony as the chief guest. Those present on the occasion were Registrar Prof Jasbir Singh Hundal, Director, College Development Council, Dr Ashok Goel and Dean, Research and Development, Savina Bansal, among others.
