Legal care centre inaugurated

BATHINDA: A legal care and support centre was inaugurated by Sneh Lata Malik, wife of Justice Rameshwar Malik, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court at SSD Girls College, Bathinda.

A legal care and support centre was inaugurated by Sneh Lata Malik, wife of Justice Rameshwar Malik, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court at SSD Girls College, Bathinda. The centre will operate under the chairmanship of Paramjeet Singh, District and Sessions Judge, Bathinda, and CJM/Secretary Amita Singh, District Legal Services Authority, Bathinda.

The centre was opened to cater to the needs of people living around the area and there was a great demand for the clinic since long. Principal Parminder Kaur Tangi, Munisha Bhatnagar and Anu Malhotra were also present on the occasion.

Sneh Lata Malik interacted with students and also started the Legal Literacy Club consisting of 25 students who would spread legal awareness amongst college students and their family members. The District Legal Services Authority, Bathinda, has already opened the legal aid clinics at various places. It was informed that National Lok Adalat would to be conducted on April 8 where all types of matters would be taken up. —TNS
