The Lok Chetna March being taken out by members of the CPI and CPM reached Kotshamir village here on Saturday. It started from Hussainiwala in Ferozepur on November 15.

Left parties are taking out the march to mobilise the support of people for a rally to be held in Ludhiana on January 28, 2019.

Leaders of the Left parties said to remind the Centre and state government of their poll promises, the rally was being organised in Ludhiana.

On Saturday at Kotshamir village, former MLAs Hardev Arshi and Jagjit Singh Joga, along with Sukhwinder Sekhon, said all Left parties would try to oust the BJP and its allies from power in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections by consolidating democratic and secular votes.

They said the Union Government had failed on all front as inflation, unemployment and atrocities incidents on Dalits and minorities had increased in the past four years.

Lashing out at the state government, they said it was also running away from its poll promises.
